What's Covered?

Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your care team. We administer dental benefits for Wellcare members in Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina and Ohio.

Your plan offers a member portal. Use it to check your coverage status, pay your premium, view your benefits and claims, find a dental provider and get your ID card.

Want to check if your dentist is in-network?

Most Wellcare members will receive a dental ID card for 2026.

For Wellcare Dual Align plans (DE, IL, OH), your health plan ID card is all you need to see your dentist. You will not receive a separate dental ID card.

 

Out-of-Network Benefits

We suggest choosing a dentist in our network. This helps you save money.

Wellcare HMO-POS, PPO, or PFFS plans have out-of-network dental coverage. All other plan types (HMO D-SNP, HMO) must see an in-network dentist to get covered services.

If You See a Dentist Outside Our Network

If your dentist is not in our network and does not take payment from Centene Dental Services, you can send us a claim form (PDF)

Ask your dental office if they take direct payment.

Keep in mind: You may still owe money even after we pay our part.

How We Pay Out-of-Network Claims

We use:

  • The plan's in-network fees
  • Your plan's maximum dollar benefit
  • Your share of the cost (copay or coinsurance)

You must pay the rest if the dentist charges more than what the plan covers.

Example:

  • Dentist bill: $500
  • Plan covers: $300
  • Your coinsurance: 50%

Plan pays: $150
You pay: $350 = $150 (your coinsurance) + $200 (amount over your plan's limit)

What to expect

Most completed requests process within 60 days and the reimbursement will be sent to the address on record.

After processing your claims, you will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). The EOB explains the charges applied to your deductible (the fixed dollar amount you pay for covered services before the insurer starts to make payments) and any charges you may owe the provider. Please keep your EOB on file in case you need it in the future.
